EastEnders to revisit Stacey and Martin’s romantic history

EastEnders is lining up a new romance story for Stacey Slater.

Stacey will agree to go on a date with mysterious newcomer Theo in next week’s scenes, but it will soon become clear that he isn’t really the object of her desires.

Jean tries to play matchmaker between Stacey and Freddie’s former teacher, but Stacey downplays her interest in Theo – even though she clearly likes him.

Stacey has misgivings over arranging a date with Theo, but when Martin disapproves, she doubles down on the plan.

She meets Theo at Walford East, but things are instantly a bit awkward and Stacey doesn’t feel a connection.

Eve misunderstands Stacey’s issues with the date and asks Theo to be Stacey’s plus one at Kathy’s wedding, believing they had a good time.

Stacey is horrified when she learns what Eve has done and explains that there was no spark on the date. She also admits that she had a dream about Martin – not Theo, leaving Eve to wonder if there’s still a future for them.

Stacey also begins contemplating whether there could be a way back for her and Martin as she becomes distracted thinking about him.

Stacey tries to flirt with Martin at The Vic, but he doesn’t take the bait.

Realising she needs to make it more clear, Stacey asks Martin to be her plus one and plans to ditch Theo. But what will Martin say?
